It's time for throwback beers!! We've decided to bring back some oldies but goodies Chuckanut brews that have not been around for a while. First up is the Sticke Alt which is on tap at North Nut right now and soon to join the line up at South Nut. This is the full bodied, extra strong, extra rich Alt bier that was popular and brewed often a couple of years of ago. Deep in color, 6.5 % ABV with a snappy hoppy finish this style of Alt is always a treat. The Rye Lager will be tapped by the end of the month both North and South. The crisp, spicy flavors of Rye malts combine with the spicy hops makes this lager a bit different from the normal malty lager using all barley malt. A sessionable beer that's great with spicy foods like our house nachos or BBQ Chicken sandwich. And don't forget that in February we'll be reintroducing our Doppelbock. Just in time for a Valentine's gift to your favorite beer lover as it will be packaged in half liter bottles to give to your sweetheart.

We'll be starting the evening off at 5:30 and wrap it up by 7 pm so make sure to come by and join in. Every last Wednesday of the month this winter we'll have Game Night at South Nut and each time we'll be enjoying a variety of games. Being as it's the middle of winter we thought a fresh vegetable soup will keep us all healthy. Our cooks have made a great fresh Minestrone using Bellingham Past Co shells, nw grown garbanzo beans, onions, carrots, WA kale, tomatoes, green beans, northern beans, you get the picture. It's not only healthy but super delicious. This months locals pizza is a Cauliflower white pizza using roasted cauliflower, white sauce, cheese, and finished with chili oil. And don't forget to try our brulee made special each month. Our specials menu continues to use our Kolsch with fresh nw clams and the chef's special seafood entree is always exciting!


Don't just sit inside and mope around in the evening, come out to one of our brewers nights and taste some mighty fine beer. This month we've got lots going on around the Sound starting with a trip to Pt Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula! We'll be at the New Moon Craft Beer Tavern with five different Chuckanut beers on January 4. Then on January 9 we'll be visiting the Union Tavern in Anacortes, one of the busiest bars in town. If you are in Mukilteo we'll be heading over to our friends at the Diamond Knot brewpub for a great brewers night. They've always got lots going on including some food paired or made with our beers. That's on January 17 from 6-8 pm. If you live out in the San Juan's we'll be there for the brewers night at Cask & Schooner right in town on San Juan Island January 19 from 4-7 pm. January 23 is another brewers night at Whole Foods, Bellingham and on January 25 Chuckanut will be part of the Brewshed Alliance event at Chuck's Hop Shop, Greenwood in support of WA Wild. 


We've got a new idea brewing at Chuckanut and we're pretty excited about it. Each brewer at both North & South Nuts will have a chance to design their own beer for you to enjoy. Our brewer will create their signature beer to be brewed at North Nut. First up in January will be brewer Rick Burns. As we get closer to kegging and tapping the special beers we'll explain more about the brewer and his beer. Stay tuned!
