OKTOBERFEST IS THS SATURDAY
|
Oktoberfest is at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen (Bellingham) this Saturday, September 8 from 1-10 pm. Admission is just $1, kids under 10 years are free! There will be lots going on including live music starting at 1:30 pm (with Threefer followed at 4 pm with Sylvia German Music) & contests (liter holding, yodelling, hammerschlaggan and more). Make sure to wear your best lederhosen & dirndles for the costume contests, play beer garden games, get your face painted and drink great German style beers & eat lots of tasty food! This year we'll have guest pop up Local Tide Crab Roll selling their delicious food and we'll have our famous brats and other treats for sale. We've got souvenir half liter and liter mugs for sale ready to be filled with Fest, Old Fest, Alt, Dunkel, Kolsch, PIlsner, Dortmunder Lager and IPA. Gates open at 1pm, the regular restaurant hours and menu suspended for the day while we celebrate. We'll be back to normal hours on Sunday, September 9. |
TAPPING OKTOBERFEST BIERS

September gives us Oktoberfest biers and this year we'll have our regular Fest Bier, that golden lager that's served all over Munich for the fest, and also our Old Fest, a bier we created last year for our local bottle shop collective. The Old Fest is a Marzen style fest bier that most people remember as the fest of old. Amber and malty with a nice dry finish this is for people that like the maltier old style taste of Marzen lager. Later in September we hope to be releasing a new collaboration lager with former Chuckanut Brewer Kevin Davey, now with Wayfinder (Portland, OR), that's a 10 Degree Czech Pils. This Czech style Lager is light bodied, but full of flavor with a sessionable ABV. If you are looking for a keg or growler fills for your autumn parties stop in to see what we have to help you out. |

SEPTEMBER MENU SPECIALSAs we move into the fall our menu changes up to get ready for colder, darker weather. Our special soup for the month is bright though, it's a Yucatan Chicken Lime soup with chicken, lime peel, herb broth, rice, terra verde farm zucchini, sweet corn, onion, garlic, cilantro. We've also switched up our Yamburrito for a Yam Quesadilla that uses spiced roasted yams, roasted onions, monterey jack, crispy flour tortilla, chipotle mayo, green onions, sour cream, and fire roasted salsa. We've added a new Sesame Broccoli Salad with broccoli, sesame~soy vinaigrette, chili flakes, toasted sesame seeds, field greens, rice chicharron, and scallions as a fresh alternative to keep you feeling healthy all winter long! And don't forget it's Eat Local Month and we've got a local Roasted Cauliflower, Lummi Island Salmon Po Boy and other great specials that we'll run as we move through the month. Check our events calendar for all the Oktoberfest, Brewers Nights & Beer Fests happening in Bellingham, Seattle, W Seattle, Redmond, Portland, OR and Denver, CO. This year we'll be pouring five beers at the GABF (Great American Beer Festival) in Denver plus two beers in the Heavy Medals area of the Fest (World Beer Cup Winners Kolsch & Pilsner). |
