RAUCH FEST AT BOTH LOCATIONS

Historically all beers had a degree of smokiness to them before the 1800's but with advances in technology that all changed. Now there are only a few styles still brewed today that use smoked malt. Chuckanut Brewery is celebrating smoke beers (in Germany known as Rauch) with a Rauch Fest on March 5, Saturday! Both locations will have 3 different smoke beers on tap to enjoy and explore. We will have the Grodziskie that uses oak smoked wheat malt, Rauch Marzen Lager and Rauch Helles Lager both using beechwood smoked barley malt. All three beers are very distinct due to the specific styles. The Grodziskie Polish lager is very light, low in alcohol and effervescent. The oak smoked wheat used in the recipe is unique and creates a lager with a very dry finish. The two Rauch beers are famously known as the Bamberg smoke beers. In the German town of Bamberg these two beers are brewed at all the local breweries. These rauch beers are both different as one uses a typical Marzen Lager recipe (amber colored, complicated malt bill) and the other a traditional Helles Lager recipe (blonde and elegant light colored malt bill). Chuckanut will donate $1 of each Rauch beer sold to wildfire relief for victims of wildfires and firefighters from both P. Nut and South Nut. Now that Covid is subsiding and more people are vaccinated we are getting into some gatherings we were waiting to schedule. The Rauch Fest will take place at P. Nut but on March 5 we'll also host our first Knit and Sip! This is a gathering for knitters, experts or beginners, so grab your yarn and needles and join us. We'll have a group knitting from 1-3 pm while the Poblano Pepper Food Truck is parked out front. We've got the beer, Poblano Pepper has the food and we're waiting for you to come knit or crochet (macrame is welcome too)! Enjoy your Saturday with a group of fun, beer loving knitters. Of course there's plenty of room in the hall and outside for you if you don't want to knit too! It's all happening on March 5! |

Tapping takes place at Slabtown Breakside! April 1-30 Skagit Farm to PInt Roadshow Festival, Chuckanut will be tapping the Skagit Tulip Ale to be paired with a bite from Skagit Landing! EVENTS FOR MARCH-APRILWe've got some events happening in March and the start of April you'll want to enjoy. The big one is our Rauch Fest at both locations. At South Nut we'll also be hosting a Brewery Open House on March 5 including free brewery tours from 12-4 pm. Brewers will be on hand to show you around and engage in serious beer chat!! On St Patty's Day we'll make sure to have our Stout on tap for you to toast with and celebrate. And mark your calendars for the Skagit Farm To Pint Roadshow happening again the entire month of April We've teamed up with our friends across the street at Skagit Landing for our paired bite. When you show your tickets you'll get a taster of this year's Tulip Ale paired with black pepper crackers and smoked salmon dipe of local salmon, dill, cream cheese, garlic, capers and more.
