NEW BEERS FOR  APRIL

It's April and that means the tulips are in bloom and Skagit Tulip Ale is here! We've canned up a small amount of Skagit Tulip this year so make sure to get in while we still have them. This year's special Tulip Ale uses 100% Skagit Valley Malting Talisman Pilsner and Climate Select malts. And the hops are experimental John L. Haas hop HBC1134 from Yakima. The farmer and experimental brewers from Haas brought the hops and helped us brew this year's edition of Skagit Tulip Ale. Lots of lemon and pine with a good dose of bitterness this is a bright golden beer. Our other special April beer is the Golden Otter Ale in support of bringing the Coastal Sea Otters back to the NW. Part of the 2023 Oregon Otter Beer Challenge Chuckanut's Golden Otter will be at the big Oregon Otter Beer Fest with the Elakha Alliance. And a portion of every Otter Ale that's served at P. Nut and South Nut will be given to help support bringing the otters back. Golden Otter uses 50% Maris Otter malt and is a traditional tasting regular bitter, British in style and taste. Maibock will be tapped at the end of April to usher in May too. We'll have a special tapping on April 29 to bring Maibock back.

NEWS FROM P. NUT BEER HALL

Did you make it to the first tapping of our Gravity Keller Keg Night? The last Friday of every month we'll be tapping a gravity keg filled with a keller beer (that's beer directly from the fermentation tanks without going through a filter) at P. Nut starting at 5 pm. Make sure to get there early cuz these kegs are small and the early bird get the worm, or beer! We also have food available for this event and are working on getting a sandwich delivery from just down the street on weekends!

APRIL EVENTS AND SPECIAL RELEASES

Are you familiar with Morris Dancers? These old English folk dancers are bright and lively with live musicians to back them up. They'll be performing at South Nut once again, hopefully we'll have a beautiful day like last year to enjoy them on the lawn. Gravity keller keg at P. Nut is Friday April 28 this month, get it in your calendar and be there when we tap our first keller keg at 5 pm. Community events are beginning to happen again with the Otter Beer Fest, April 15 in Portland and April Brews Day, April 29 in Bellingham. As we get deeper into spring lots more events will happen. And if you are at the ball field to take in a Mariners game get over to Din Tai Fung and get their Chuckanut Asian Lager on tap to have with some of their tasting noodles and dumplings!
