Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen and the Whatcom Symphony have partnered since April "Classical on Tap" to further interest in classical music for all ages. This great free program has been well received and continues to grow in popularity. With summer selected members of the symphony have been in our back patio accompanied by their executive director Gail Ridenour who talks with the audience about the historic nature of the work being performed and other interesting trivia concerning classical music. Guests are encouraged to have dinner and beverages while they enjoy the music. If you've got a group that would like to come we take reservations for parties over 6 people.


Our rarely brewed Schwarz Bier (Black Lager) is on tap once again at both the Kitchen and the South Nut Tap Room! Take advantage of this great German style lager while it's on tap because it only happens once or twice a year. The last time was about a year ago! Winner of a GABF award in 2008 it's smooth with bitter chocolate and espresso like flavors, a medium body and a smooth crisp finish. Great in the summer if you like dark beers but don't want it to be too heavy. Try it and see if you like it!

The bounty of summer has arrived and we are taking full advantage of it this August. Our Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho is the perfect light cold soup to enjoy on these hot summer days. Check out our Prosciutto Margherita Pizza with Ferndale Farmstead fresh Mozzarella, Sunseed Farm heirloom tomatoes layered with prosciutto and basil. If you haven't tried the Red Currant Brulee you better get in before it's all gone. And don't forget if you're into seafood our Catch is the way to go, always delicious and different.


The festival scene is heating up as we move into August. We'll be at the Anacortes Art Festival starting this weekend, look for us at the beer garden with Pilsner and Kolsch. The Oly Festival takes place August 5 from 1-8 pm and we'll be there with the Vienna Lager & Filtered American Wheat. On August 12 we'll be celebrating Brewfest on the Skagit in Mt Vernon. Come out to support the old Lincoln Theater, a very historic theater in downtown blocks from the festival. And Tacoma is enjoying Tacoma Beer Week August 8 when we'll be at the Founders celebration at the Parkway Tavern. All us old timers will be around to talk about the early days of craft beer in WA state starting at 5 pm.


Chuckanut has quite a few brewers nights in August. August 10 we'll be at the new Belltown Brewery in Seattle from 5-7 pm. There will be 4 great Chuckanut beers on tap to enjoy and we'll be there to answer your questions. On August 15 we'll be at the Flatstick Pub in Pioneer Square with a wide selection of Chuckanut favorites. Come on down to play some minature golf and drink Chuckanut. On August 24 we'll have a Bellingham Tap Takeover at Pine Box on Capital Hill in Seattle. This great beer bar is hosting a group of about five of us Bellingham breweries so stop in and show your Bellingham Love!
